Nearly everyone has some reluctance to join in conversations that existed before they arrived, especially with people whom they have net met. Posting on a forum discussion can feel intimidating. If you go back and read some of the early posts in any discussion, you always find people expressing something along these lines.
Every new member has gone through similar questions and doubts, even those who look like they are very much at home in these discussions. The important thing is that you post anyway! Once you do, all the members will go to great lengths to help you fit in and feel comfortable.
